Its A Lie To Tell A Sin
Lyrics
Dear World
© 2018 Starburst/Bauer
Shortened version

Floating down the corridors of misbegotten lawgivers, no one sees reality, no one knows what's right
And long before there's honesty it's only the blind that see, the meddling mediocrity, the stumbling idiocrasy
I'm standing here beside myself, conversing on a puppet's shelf
Why? There's no reason

Dear World somehow we find the strength
Dear World some things are heaven sent

Lorena's here from Mexico with a suitcase full of dreams
Said she'd like to sing some songs we've never heard before
Straps her guitar round her neck & her voice begins to beam
I still hear heavy breathing as the magic starts to soar
She plays her tunes till midnight
While the fans just grow and grow
She's wondering where they came from
When the juggler joins the show & now she's famous
But she doesn't know how come

Dear World we start to see the light
Dear World we're crushing wrong with right

Lorena says don't hold back, says it's time to spank the night
Light your candles in the woodshed, toke up and burn it bright
It's another day of promises, and she never loses faith
silence doubting Thomas's, working miracles case by case
working miracles case by case

Dear World I never thought we'd come this far
Dear World did we really, really heal the scars
Dear World I still can't stop thinking 'bout her
The minstrel and the juggler show
Dear World I guess I knew I'd always, always, always know

Story Behind the Song:
I wrote this song as my homage to performing indie artists throughout the world who, in the face of never ending fear, hatred and xenophobia focus on spreading joy, peace and love at a time in history where these virtues are seemingly in such short supply.
